This search helps you find temporary files, cache files, and unneeded files by using edit masks (or wildcard characters). The application provides you with a list of known temporary files by default, but you can always add more file masks as options.

Here is a small list of common temporary, unneeded, and backup files:

• Old files: *.bak;*.old;*.$$$;*.000
• Temporary files: *.tmp;*.~mp
• ScanDisk backup files: file????.chk
• Help-related temporary files: *.cnt;*.fts;*.gid
• Log files: *.log

All files in the results tree are grouped by mask for easy navigation through your search results.
